Facing oppressive weather and car breakdowns, doctors from the Department of Community Medicine, PMCH visited rural areas of Bihar and carried out the monitoring of the NIPI - a programme then being operated under international agreement between India and Norway. Dr Ranjeet K Sinha and Dr Madhumita Mukherjee visited Karpi in Arwal district of Bihar in 2009, and came to know about the successes and failures involved in the delivery of healthcare services to peripheral Bihar.
