The Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) is implementing project on “Consolidating the role of civil society in biodiversity conservation in the Caribbean islands”, funded by the MacArthur Foundation for 2011-2013. This project includes supporting implementation of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) in the Caribbean through providing additional opportunities for capacity sharing and networking among civil society organisations (CSOs) applying to and receiving grants from CEPF to share information and experiences on biodiversity conservation initiatives in protected areas.
As a response to the participants People in Action has created a reporting website to not only report on the workshop but for informing on issues, plans, policies and developments as it pertains to the conservation of Grenada's biodiversity assets.
People in Action will like to invite civil society, private citizens, private sector to the “Sustainable Greenz Movement”, the gathering of civil society dedicated to adopting the principles and philosophy of the “Growth & Poverty Reduction Strategy” for the promotion of sustainable development. PIA will like to further suggest that a first doable activity would be the supportive creation of an awareness campaign; the “Greenz Campaign”.
