Now we have take inventory of our situation; i.e. our assets, human resource, needs and aspirations. We have now gathered information for us to build upon. The 2nd Stage brings us to now looks at our situation in strategically assessing the:
Geo-Analysis: The community asset maps created in the previous exercise will now serve as reference material for the Analysis process. The community will look at the maps to analyse locations, frequency, relationships of assets to various, accessibility, etc.
Stakeholder Analysis: An assessment of the various player involved in the asset or area, their roles, responsibilities, plans and programs
E.P.I.S.T.E.L. Analysis: Environmental, Political, Informational, Social, Technological, Economic, Legal aspects of the asset or area.
S.W.O.T. Analysis: The Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats in relation to the asset or area
Communication Analysis: An assessment of target audience, the various mediums of communication, personalities, programs and what is the message
Preparation
This exercise will require the engagement of the community leaders, groups, change-makers and if possible the institutions and government agencies who are stakeholders in the development of the area or asset.
