PIA seeks to develop a strategy for development in a participatory & sustainable manner, employing the platform of eParticipation planning & eCommerce, to develop & sustain socio-economic growth independently driven by communities.
The program is geared towards the independent & sustainable development of the communities in Grenada, with monitoring and evaluation procedures strategically staged to assess every juncture in the development. Volunteer Tourism will be employed to affect social development based on the dissemination of the participatory approach. The revenue generated by the volunteer tourism will sustain the livelihoods of the participants as well as support the dissemination of the participatory methodology while sharing skills to assist in the building of the administrative framework of the community.
A built-in format for reporting and a recording platform to upload community information on their assets and needs in the following areas: history, culture, schools, utilities, community member mapping, churches, events, etc. Communities will be encouraged to support the use and participate in the eParticipatory framework to affect transparency and accountability. Ecommerce & ebusiness strategies will also be employed to support the development of SMEs, agriculture, community tourism and volunteer tourism.
The development will be guided on the ground by PIA consultants trained in the participatory approach. An econsultancy platform will be formulated to provide a point of contact with consultants to provide guidance, assistance and schedule appointments for field/community visits. Digitalized, interactive research and reference material such as development frameworks, strategies, policies, and guidelines; as well as advertise workshops, grants, programs, etc. will be linked to the eParticipatory site to encourage research and awareness on national strategies for development.
Once a community decides to invest time and resources to their development with the guidance and facilitation of PIA, using the eParticipatory framework, Community leaders and designated Development Management Team must sign to a contractual agreement to;
attend all 4 orientation planning sessions
provide active participation in the development of the program
show participation of the community
show where livelihoods are provided for those of the community most in need or supports the development of the wider community
show partnerships in development with the community
Evaluate the impact of every phase of development
Report after every phase of development
Document and publicize the community successes on every stage of development.
Communities and their individual members will be dropped from the program for lack of commitment to development,
Communities will not receive volunteers until all requirements of preparation; monitoring, evaluation and reporting are met and posted on the eParticipatory site.
