Meeting with Commissioner Hagen Brody and Director of Parks and Recreation, Jerry Fogle - 6th June, 2018

Post date: 16-Jun-2018 17:27:12

A report on the meeting called by Commissioner Hagen Brody, Director of Parks and Recreation, Jerry Fogle and representatives of Payne Park Players: Tony Kenworthy, Tanya Ringland, Debby Thompson, Allan Thompson, Ginny Rattigan, Pam Hahlbeck and Rose Waag, is available below.

Essential points form the meeting are:

    • there will be no substantive changes for users of Payne Park when the City takes over full operation of the site
    • damaged awnings are to be repaired in the near future - a Purchase Order has been placed and a work schedule is being discussed
    • existing staff will be considered, by the City, for future posts at the Tennis Center. Staff appointed, by the City, to work at the Tennis Center will not be seconded to other locations and will work solely at Payne Park
    • a plan to provide additional parking spaces is being considered
    • potential use of the other parts of the building is being investigated to provide better locker rooms and pro shop.
    • the City will be looking into enhancing the facilities and increasing usage at 'slow' periods, hopefully encouraging more children to play the game
