Pasco County NOW is proud to name District 36 Representative Amanda Murphy Legislator of the Year. First elected in a special election in 2013, Murphy has been representing the interests of Florida women and families ever since. Pasco NOW President Elaine Togneri noted, “With her well-run legislative office, active involvement in the community, and fearless dedication to supporting the rights of women, consumers, and Pasco families, Representative Amanda Murphy is truly a wonder woman.” This is the first time the feminist organization has recognized a local legislator for work on women’s issues.

Murphy will be honored on Oct. 17 at the Wonder Women Awards Luncheon to be held at Seven Springs Golf and Country Club, 3535 Trophy Blvd, Trinity, FL. The luncheon will also feature wonder woman awardee retired Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor as keynote speaker.
