Fundraiser for Sunrise

Thursday, Elaine attended a fundraiser for Sunrise of Pasco – Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center. The event was held at the office of Cooper Financial Services in Land O’Lakes, and the vendors donated a portion of their sales to Sunrise. In addition, attendees were asked to bring items needed for the shelter and the women there. It was heartening to see the wonderful supportive women who came to donate, including our own VP Action Bonni Axler and candidates Beverly Ledbetter for House District 38 and Erika Remsberg for County Commission Seat 2.

As stated on the Sunrise website, “Sunrise provides the only free Sexual Assault Counseling Services in Pasco County. Counselors are available for individual and group counseling for victims of rape, incest or molestation irrespective of age or if the crime has been reported to law enforcement. Counseling is also available to the victim's loved ones.”T
