Hello

I am a researcher specialising in anxiety and walking (with a particular focus on Parkinson’s) and I recently relocated (just prior to the 1st Covid lockdown) to the University of Exeter profile | Sport and Health Sciences | University of Exeter . I am organising a large research project in the SW England funded by Parkinson’s UK. I am hoping you might be willing to share some information about this research to organisers of local branches/Parkinson’s groups you work with? I will be publicising the work through the Parkinson’s UK research network, but it would also be useful to make contact with specific branches in SW England to strengthen links and raise awareness of this work.

This project is about freezing of gait. We want to improve our understanding of what causes freezing. We are also testing a new strategy designed to help people step from a freeze. In order to carry out this work, we are looking to recruit people with Parkinson’s who DO and DO NOT experience freezing (we need to test the people without freezing as a comparison group). We are also looking for people who do not have Parkinson’s as a further comparison group.

Here is a link that gives some more information about the project https://youtu.be/OGstCCAKhig along with a recruitment flyer (Click Here). Might it be possible for you to share this information with contacts you have? If you have any questions my number is 07807153392.

Many thanks,

Will
