TAI CHI

Friday mornings were made for Tai Chi, tea and cake…

We are pleased to announce that the Tai Chi class for Bristol Parkinson's group has re-started on 10th September 2021.

The class will be run by Sarah from Buqi Works and Claire from Tai chi body and mind. Both ladies have a wealth of experience teaching Tai Chi & QiGong.

What does a Tai Chi class for Parkinson's involve?

This is a gentle Tai Chi & QiGong class tailored to the needs of people with Parkinson’s. We also welcome carers and family members. You can do the exercises standing or sitting. You do not have to achieve any kind of standard. Just go at your own pace, take a chance to relax, and enjoy yourself.

How can it help me?

Tai Chi can help to improve your motor function and balance, as well as gait and posture. Some people with Parkinson’s also say that they sleep better when they practise.

Tai chi is also thought to have a wide range of benefits for your health generally, including your heart health and fitness levels as well as your mental wellbeing.

A chance to share:

There are two 45 minute sessions, with a half hour tea break. Our participants really value the chance to sit down and chat between the sessions, and people have made new and lasting friendships in these sessions.
