Parkinson's research focus group

Parkinson’s is a condition that changes over time and this change can look different for everyone.  The prediction of what this change is likely to look like is called a prognosis.

Researchers are developing models to provide a clearer idea of how someone’s Parkinson’s is likely to progress based on their current symptoms. It is hoped that having more detailed and accurate information could help people living with the condition to make more informed future care plans.

Lis  Grey and her team at the University of Bristol are developing an interview study to understand the views of people affected by Parkinson’s on these models and what support they would like to receive alongside a prognosis.

Lis would like to discuss the research with members of the Parkinson’s community (both people with the condition and unpaid carers) to ensure that the research is feasible, inclusive and appropriate for future participants.  To do this, Lis will be holding a meeting to discuss the research and invites you to attend. The meeting will be arranged for a time and place that suits the most people – this may be in central Bristol or on Zoom. It will last about an hour and you will receive £25 (plus travel expenses if incurred).

If you are interested in joining a meeting to discuss this research, please contact Lis
