Closet Lighting

Instead of installing the light at the top or over the door of the standard closet why not look into using some of the new low voltage LED strip or COB* lights? A person can mount them on the bottom of the shelf or/and on each side of the door inside the closet. The overhead shelf tends to get cluttered and block the light from shinning on the clothes hanging under the shelf. This way the lights are mounted as the same level as the clothes and illuminate them instead of casting shadows. You may have to speak to your electrician or inspector to see what lights may be approved for such use.

*COB (Chip On Board) multiple LEDs are mounted as one lighting module on a single board. This gives them a better cooling area and a higher efficacy.
