Three Way Switches and How They Work

This is a video tutorial on how Three Way Switches work.  Three Way Switches are the light switches used to control lights from two different locations.  For example, they would be used at the two ends of of a  hallway or staircase.  Whenever more than two switches are needed then Four Way Switches would be used with the two Three Ways.

Four Way Switches and How they Work

This is a video tutorial on how Four Way Switches work. Four Way Switches are the light switches used whenever a light is needed to be controlled from more than two locations.  For example, if  you had three entrances into a room, two of the switches would be Three Ways and one would be a Four Way.  This is because the switches are connected by a pair of conductors known as travelers. The two Three Ways are on each end of the travelers and all the extra Four Ways would be wired in between on the travelers.

About Different Kinds Of Switches

This 3D tutorial covers SPST, SPDT, DPST, and DPDT switches. Shown in the video is how DPDT switches may be used as a 4-ways, DC motor reverse switch, and a power transfer. Also covered Normally Open, Normally Closed and the common terminals mean. This my first tutorial made using Blender. Audio was recorded using Audacity and the video was edited by Avidemux. All work was done in Ubuntu Linux.

In this video I explore why electricity does not harm a bird on a wire but will kill a man walking too near a down power line. Demonstration of why involves lighting a LED with a hot dog while it is being energized by 110 volts. Please Note. I have worked for decades with High Voltage and don't recommend that you try to repeat my demonstrations. They can kill and/or cause property damage.
