Princeton, NJ - September 18, GWN Races

TEAM DRAGONS - 3rd in B finals!!! 13th/24 teams. The crew took home bronzeand also helped to fillin

the United East Crew for their mixed crew entry. [finals=2:25.47]

Hartford, Ct - August 21-22

TEAM DRAGONS - Crew finished the weekend with 2 GOLDS!!! Winning the B Major finals at both the 500m and 250m distances! Congrats! [2:29.93, 2:25.82, 2:17.05 // 59.65, 56.72, 55.15]

TEAM SOS - Although we didn't have a team entered, Peggy from the team did get to paddle with the top seeded Philly-base Against the Wind BCS crew - and she finished the weekend with a WOW experience and medals!!! (gold and silver)

NYC - August 8, Women's Invitational

TEAM SOS - 4th in semifinals. [1:34.19]. Didn't perform well, but what can be expected for 12 gals

to paddle a 2000lb teakwood dragon boat along a 250m course. No practice, this was a culture

shock for a crew used to paddling with 16+ in a 700lb fiberglass dragon boat. The teakboat was

typical of the NYC fleet, tight fit in the seats, very tough task in getting those boats moving! 8-) But,

it was a very festive day, great viewing with the Empire gals and lots of vendors and a great

announcer in this festival!

Montreal - July 25-26

TEAM DRAGONS 5th in Intermediate E Finals (68th of 108) in 500m finals and 69th in 250m Finals. [2:20.20, 2:20.18, 2:25.26, 1:01.08]

Lake Parsippany - July 17, NJ BCS Invitational Challenge

PATHWAYS TEAM SOS, NJ served as hosts for NJ's first BCS challenge. The concept for NJ BCS teams to take a turn at hosting a Dragon Boat event for their fellow Garden staters started at Lake Parsippany and with a bang! 7 area BCS teams were represented! Event won by Machestic Dragons with Team SOS, Atlantic City Vikings and Gildas, Philly Hope Afloat, NY Wall Street Dragons, Philly Against the Wind! Day included 3-4 races, swimming and a test of dragon boat knowledge!!!

Baltimore, MD - June 19, Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge

TEAM DRAGONS 3rd in A minor final !!! - Finished 7th out of 15 mixed/open teams! Crew performed well in the rough waters of the Baltimore Harbor waters with times of 2:25.70, 2:24.68, 2:34.59. Beat out Gotham Thunder and DCH X crew!

Peterborough, On - June 11-13, IDBF BCS World Championships

TEAM SOS again partnered with Machestic Dragons in their first experience in an IDBF World Event. The combined crew racing as Machestics nailed their first heat finishing 47th over all, but the excitement of the week took its toll and the crew posted slower times with each heat - finishing the event 64th of 74 teams. Lessons learned, bring own drummer and steerer! [2:46;73, 2:48.95, 2:49.95, 2:48.49] Tons of pink, lots of teams, lots of countries, lots of tears, and a great overall experience for all who made the trip to paddle and to support these athletes! Ann, Jane, Joan K, Joan M, Judy, Michele, Peggy, Sally!

Princeton - June 6, Paddle for Pink

TEAM SOS - Our crew overcame a tough 1st heat to grab 3rd with a strong 1st place win in the Semis. (2:03.10, 1:29.90) The 2nd heat was shortened due to weather conditions.

Washington DC - May 15-16

TEAM SOS - 1 GOLD, 1 SILVER!!! - Our 6 TEAM SOS teammates hooked up with the Machestic Dragons and won gold in Women's 250m by an average of 2.828 seconds! (1:56.707, 1:56.502, 1:50.853) and 2nd in 500m by just .690 sec! (3:19.580, 3:06.320)! Pretty good considering we had 18 paddlers! Lots of fun and new friends came with the paddling and wins! Betty, Cathy, Joan K, Judy, Sally, Barry, Ellen.
