Type species: Carpophilus (Nitops) ophthalmics Murray 1864

[形態] unexcised hypopygidial and abruptly transverse pygidial apices in males, forming together a round foramen for the apically projected anal sclerite.

[生態] Nitops (Urocarpolus) floralis はOpuntia opuntia の花で幼虫が発育する(Connell, 1956).
