Standard 6: Provides safe, appropriate and responsive quality care

I have always demonstrated safe practice, following the standards of practice, code of ethics, and codes of conduct. I have always worked under my scope of practice to deliver safe and quality care. I also understand the risk associated with the inability to provide safe and quality care. I have responded to the condition of the patient and made referrals to responsible health professionals who could better handle that situation. For example, I always informed my buddy RN when working as a student nurse if there were any changes in the condition of the patient. Observing my skills and care for patients, my facilitator during my placement on the Oncology ward has provided me feedback saying that I have the ability to provide safe care to the appropriate patient load.
