Phillip Ray Pierce, 64, former resident of Norman, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, in Dallas. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Bethel Baptist Church, 1717 W. Lindsey St., with Pastor James Erlich and Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
He was born Oct. 28, 1946, in Norman and graduated from Norman High School in 1964. Phillip attended the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Business College and served in the 145th Air Calvary of the 45th Infantry Division of the Oklahoma National Guard. He was a district manager for the steel building industry for 30 years. Phil loved serving the Lord and was an active member of Fielder Road Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas. He enjoyed fellowship with his friends and family and was OU’s No. 1 fan. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Pierce; and his parents, Marvin and Thelma Pierce.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Pierce of the home; son, David Pierce and wife Maryann of Chickasha; daughter, Rebecca Onan and husband Brody of Edmond; stepson, Ryan Due and wife Beatrice of Euless, Texas; stepdaughter, Angela Miller and husband Tim of Temple, Texas; grandchildren Matthew Pierce and Andrew Pierce of Chickasha, Madelyn Onan and Hudson Onan of Edmond, Carlee Miller, Pierce Miller and Graham Miller of Temple, Texas, and Jonah Due, Hannah Due and Noah Due of Euless; sister, LaDonna Heavner-Clark and husband Leo of Norman; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles and aunts. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St. Arrangements are under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home.
