James Nash

James Floyd Nash, 60, of Norman died Sunday, Dec. 3. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Journey Church in Norman. Mr. Nash was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Norman to Floyd Jr. and Juanita (Robertson) Nash. He attended Norman High School and graduated in 1964. After high school, he proudly served the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He then attended the University of Oklahoma and began his 17 year career in social work. He worked for the welfare department and later as a health care manager for Mental Health Services. Mr. Nash was an active member and volunteer at Journey Church. He loved to care for animals and had many pets. He enjoyed softball and organized and led the Campus Corner Merchants softball team to many victories. He also enjoyed spending time at the Norman Duck Pond, collecting military rifles and helping others. He was preceded in death by his father Floyd W. Nash and sister Deanna Nash. He is survived his mother Juanita (Robertson) Nash of Purcell; his wife Carla of Norman; his daughter Heather and son James Nash Jr. of Santa Fe, N.M.; two grandchildren, Jason Lujan and Brittany Nash; and brother David Nash.
