Regnum Borealis - The holy realm of the Knight King. the Regnum Borealis is likely one of the most progressive and developed places in the world, bordering the ancient civilization of the Spiritfolk. It is in constant battle over small chains of islands around the world between the Insulae Occasus, whose imperialistic tendencies are seen as a threat, especially with the mass-production of firearms. The capitol is located beside a mountain range, surrounded on three sides by fearsome peaks, a military procedure questioned by some. It has no failed them yet, however, and with the guidance of the Knight King, few believe it ever will. In recent years they seem to have began testing the usefulness of localized railroads, a development that could speed both travel and marketing.
Mundus Occidens - A world seemingly all to its own in the world; it remains almost untouched by civilization, only an occasional colony spotted throughout the continent's dense forestry and plains. It is the home of the Birdfolk who live high in the trees and a variety of Spiritfolk including Elves, Sylph, and Ogres. Its eastern-most region is humid and tropical, tapering off at a trail of mountains that borders a literal sea of forest that exists as a sanctuary and paradise for the Spiritfolk who removed themselves from humanity. Some of the elves and Birdfolk willingly engage in a minimal amount of trade with some of the settling colonies, keeping on friendly terms to ensure the safety of their homes.
Area Oriens - A backwater continent with a majority of its landmass that appears unfit for human life, much of the land covered by swamplands or thick vegetation. Some smaller kingdoms have taken root here, out of the sphere of influence of the two powers. An ancient sect of worshippers to the Goddess Pandora are rumored to still survive somewhere in the deep fog, and legend has it that Spiritfolk, even perhaps one of the Terrestrial Guardian Dragons, live to the far, far north in places unreachable by man. Many human scholars believe that some prehistoric battle may have occurred here due to an occasional excavation yielding interesting results, however no truth has ever been solidified and the Spiritfolk remain silent on the matter. Popular rumor holds that the Drachian Desert to the far east was created by spilled blood of a dying dragon and its vengeful curse.
Insulae Occasus - The Insulae Occasus is a large chain of islands interlocked by landbridges and shallow seas; the result of part of the Magi Wars of ancient times. Despite its sporadicness, it was successfully united under a single ruler whose history is so murky that only a few know his name. The lack of firm foundation and resources has given the higher positions of power an almost imperialistic streak, and they end up in skirmishes wherever they go. At one point in time they desired control over the Area Oriens, but relinquished the idea due to conflict with both the natives and terrain. Their current interest is the islands scattered through the sea, hoping to secure land in hopes of a potential reinvasion of their original goal.
