Humans: The dominate race of Valoris, inhabiting 95% percent of the landmasses. What they lack in might and magic, they make up for in adaptability and innovation. Thanks to constant excavation of ancient technology, prominent nations are developing at surprising pace. Their claim to fame is the matchlock gun, whose fearsome sound and the gore of the wound it commits carries a degree of shock and demoralizing potential against its opposition. The Holy City of Regnum on the northernmost continent is considered the pinnacle of human civilization, but they continue to have altercations with the islanders to the far south.

Birdfolk: A race of avian humanoids referred to in legends as the Winged Ones. Despite story, however, the seemingly heavenly race is is completely natural. Their people, bound to life high in the trees, feature hollow bones designed for extended gliding and limited flight, allowing them to move swiftly in their simplistic lifestyle. They primarily inhabit the far reaches of the Eastern Continent within the dense cover of its ancient forestry. They rarely associate with humans, although their innate sense of benevolence has led to the rescue of many a stranded sailor or traveler, leading to the Birdfolk being heralded as a race of sky-bound.

Homunculus: Valorian Homunculi are humanoid organisms synthesized by concentrated mana and are therefore highly susceptible to Astralite, the primary weapon of Magekillers. A wound inflicted with such a weapon leaves a grievous wound that renders the body in excruciating pain and constant nausea until it can be purged or treated via a magical means. On the subject of mana itself however, as the bodies are forged through magic via intricate design, channeling too much too often will result in the inevitable decay of the body. The bodies themselves were never designed to host an aging mechanism, so one might speculate that they could continue on indefinitely without fail. Unfortunately as the bodies fail to age alongside the mind there will be unavoidable consequences, and a highly stressful or dangerous lifestyle will eventually begin to cause severe mental instability, peaking in the mind's desire for release from the artificial body, regardless of how artfully built. The possibility of a slow decline to insanity can occur as early as one hundred and fifty, but it is more likely to occur around five-hundred years, given the lifestyle of the Homunculus. A lifestyle which revolves around magic and sorcery will cause the homunculus to reach this breaking point far earlier than one which chooses to live in a isolated, or peacful manner. As of current none of these creatures seem to live, however a frightful number of identical, partially-formed ones were discovered in a dilapidated mansion that was plundered...

Spiritfolk: The Spiritfolk: Dryad, Elves, Fae, Giants, Sylph, any of the ancient races, now regarded as a single community, who shielded themselves and hid from the world during the Magi War. Interbreeding among them and a few selected humans has led to a sort of streamlined race who acknowledges all of each other as their own blood. At the very peak of this secretive and powerful society are the dragons regarded as the stuff of legends, who are measured in the terms of a mountain and fell all foes with their fire.
