Physics Syllabus Fall 2013
Physics (9-12th grades)
The focus of this course will be on Physics principals for Energy and Motion, Electricity and Energy, Wave Theory (Sound and Light), Diversity and Interactions of Matter. This is a one year, 10-unit course Recommended: Algebra 1
Textbook: Physical Science - 2005 ed. (Glencoe - satellite dish on front) Physics
Or Physics – 2005 ed. (Glencoe - Flame on front) CP Physics
Attendance: Twice a week for 1 hour on scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays onsite classroom days, 15 weeks per semester.

Guided Preview Sheet (GPS): Typed into the online Moodle or GPS on paper
Due End of Semester
5 Typed formal Lab Write-ups
Midyear or Final Science Projects (Final Project can be Project Showcase)
Semester/Final Exams (all taken onsite on Online Moodle website above)

4-- Sign Safety Contract - (copies will be in class to sign, so you can just read and sign in class)
5-- Show what you have learned by completing one of the following (a, b or c):
a)Create a Powerpoint page teaching one of the rules, email your page to
rwixom@learningchoice.org or bcephua@learningchoice.org
(Feel free to use animation, music or design tools make your page interesting)
OR b) Create a video demonstrating one of the rules (like the stop action lego film last year, or
use an animation software below):
