2011 Syllabus

Life Science Lab (5th – 8th grades)

The focus of this course will be the study of the ecology, cells, genetics, phylogeny, physiological development from bacteria through the human body. This course is a review and lab course to subsidize a Life Science course, and develop Laboratory skills and experience. Assigned lab work will be completed using online, demonstrative & hands-on activities to apply the Science principals & concepts. This is a 1 year course.

Attendance: Twice a week for 1 hours on classroom days, 15 days per semester.

Due before each class:

Study Guide Pages & online section assessments or Chapter test (alternating weeks)

Due first week after each lab:

Laboratory Write-ups - (one or two per week in notebook – one TYPED per semester)

Due at end of Units or Year:

Final Science Project (can be used for Project Showcase)
