Semester I - Week of 11/30

In class work on your research for your paper that is due next week. Keep in mind that you should include historical background to the conflict, what is happening currently, and the implications of the conflict.

Next class you will bring a PRINTED copy of your paper (this will be your rough draft).

Additionally you will use at least 1 source from the database (JSTOR) listed below. Read the directions carefully when setting up an account.

JSTOR, a searchable database of -- literally -- hundreds of thousands of academic articles, journals, and books, is finally here! Teachers and students are invited to try out this amazing resource.

Here's how it works:

1. Set up a MyJSTOR account using Walter Payton's unique URL: http://www.jstor.org/token/rVVCfQWVwdb6kAa5wNIJ/wpcp.org

You will be directed to the Login/Register for MyJSTOR page.

Complete the required fields to register a unique username and password. Make sure to put Walter Payton College Prep as your institution. A unique email address is required, but the email address may be of any type (Gmail, Hotmail, a institution-issued account, etc.).

Click "Submit" to register your account. You will be redirected to the new JSTOR main page, where you may use JSTOR as usual.

2. To use JSTOR in the future, go directly to www.jstor.org and select "Login" at the top of the page to enter JSTOR with your username and password.

You may access JSTOR via this account from any location.

JSTOR tells us: Note that each user must register their own MyJSTOR account through the access token registration link to access full-text content on JSTOR. Please note that this access token link is for the use of Walter Payton College Prep High Schools authorized users only. Any other users will be considered unauthorized

Prompt:

Think of the conflicts in the world today that are based on religion . What are some of them, where are they occurring, and why do you think religion has played a factor?
