About Me: Jay Adamson
I am Jay Adamson, the current Director of People Services for Wolf Creek Public Schools, bringing a wealth of experience in educational leadership, mentorship, and community building. With over 20 years of teaching and administrative experience, I have dedicated my career to fostering environments where students, staff, and school communities can achieve their fullest potential.
My teaching journey began at David Thompson High School, where I taught high school Physical Education and Science and served as Athletic Director. This role solidified my passion for leadership, collaboration, and student-centered education. Over the years, I have held key leadership positions, including Athletic Director at West Central High School, Physical Education Assessment Leader for Wild Rose School Division, Assistant Principal at Lacombe Composite High School and Principal at Crestomere School, where I worked closely with staff and stakeholders to develop innovative educational strategies, strengthen relationships, and improve student outcomes.
In addition to my leadership roles, I have been deeply involved in mentorship programs for new teachers and administrators, aspiring leaders, and cross-school collaborations. My educational philosophy is rooted in building positive relationships and leadership capacity, aligning with my career objective to inspire growth and collective success in our division.
I hold a Master of Science in Education with a focus on teaching pedagogy and assessment and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. I am also an advocate for continuous learning, demonstrated by my participation in leadership programs, professional development, and mentorship initiatives.
Outside of work, I am a proud husband to Kandice and a devoted father. My family is my cornerstone, and I strive to lead by example in both my personal and professional life. I value good health, happiness, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through education and leadership.
As Director of People Services, I am honored to support our schools, staff, and communities in achieving our shared vision for excellence in education.
A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.
