Salivating or shocked dogs, confused cats, superstitious pigeons, confused children, deprived monkeys, smart rats - the list of very cool psychology experiments go on and on. Psychology science fair projects allow us to explore the workings of the mind. How do we study how the mind works? We learn about human thought and emotions by studying human behavior. For instance, have you ever wondered why you feel better when you hear your favorite song, does positive posts or likes make us feel better, why males and females react differently to the same situation, or why certain colors make you feel calm? Psychology science fair projects help you determine why people exhibit certain behaviors under certain conditions. Constructing psychology science projects can be exciting and fun. Most people however, find it difficult to come up with an experiment for their project. The following information provides ideas and sample psychology science fair project.

A. 7-10 Minute Oral Presentation for your audience
B. The assignment is to complete a research study testing a psychological concept of your choice. You will conduct your research during or after school. You will work in groups of no more than four total to design and carry out your study.
C. Picking your topic –Proposal due Wednesday, May 10 - Presentations begin the week of May 22 - There will be a library display where faculty and students will be invited
For this project, you may choose to do an experiment, a correlation study, or an ex post facto experiment answering any question related to psychology. You must collect your data using either a survey, experiment, or naturalistic observation and your method must meet the ethical criteria set by the IRB (me).

Headings that should be included on your display are: a title or question, your hypothesis, operational definitions, purpose, materials, procedure, data, observations, and conclusion. Place your project title or question in the center board in large letters. Your data may also be placed in the center board under your title.
