intension of the logo

People in these three countries, the Netherlands, Indonesia, and Japan, have different culture, values, languages, tradition, and history. Unfortunately these people share also some very sad history in the past, which causes pains and suffering. Therefore we believe that it is important to keep a dialogue about it; listen to each other, understand each other, and find respect each other. Then we together with others can choose for ourselves to make a bridge between the cultures which would lead us eventually to positive future together.

The logo symbolizes this positive choice of ours. Under the overlap of three flags lies dark and sad history, but we intend to create a PEARL on top of it.

W and A are in black but F is still in weak gray. Wim and Adrie started the dialogue, and there are many other predecessors before me who joined that. I would like to show my respect and gratitude to them. And while Wim and Adrie grew through the dialogue and finished their job, I am just beginning and growing. So I will reamin gray not to forget the first motivation until my job is done, as the custom of Daruma in Japan.
