SANTA CAME TO TOWN!
39 kids from Sovane received beautifully wrapped
Christmas pressies on the 28th November 2014.
Spot the odd one out. No pressies for naughty boys!
A lot of effort and planning had gone into Santa's elves being there.
An ex colleague from advertising days in Nairobi kindly offered to raise funds for the boxes.
Christiane Firnges lives in Switzerland and with her friend
Kathy Patellis Schmidt they raised enough money to buy goodies for the gift boxes, bringing beaming smiles onto these kids' faces.
Sheetal Cross from Durban and an old school friend also contributed towards the Christmas stockings.
Jill Stuart from Mkuze spent a couple of days in Durban with me and we shopped until we dropped.
Toiletries, toys, clothes and a few extra treats like sweets and bubbles were bought and stocked up.
Gill Currie helped pack the boxes that were carefully wrapped at Ridgewood Retirement Village, organised by my mum, Pat Mounter.
On the 28th November we took a car loaded with gifts, cakes and fresh fruit.
Our grandchildren were Santa's helpers and they so sweetly handed out presents to wide-eyed kids.
That was the calm before the sticky. Cake does that to you.
The parents had bought beads which they wrapped around my belly, bum, wrists and ankles -
a token of thanks which I pass onto you my wonderful friends!!
Thanks everyone for your incredible contributions on this day of giving.

Thanks to Jill Stuart and Hayley Horn for the fab pics.
