2016 YEAR END

As 2016 draws to a close we remember the debilitating drought that has crippled most of the northern Zululand farmlands.

The communities of Sovane have proven to be so resilient and always ready with a beaming smile.

We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the most amazing support we have received during the year. Our special thanks to St.Michael's Anglican Church in Umhlanga Rocks for their overwhelming support from regular food donations given on Basket Sundays, the jerseys, clothes and blankets from the winter drive, the continued financial support to train the teachers in Early Child Development - and for those discreet donations that find their way into our account. Thanks to friends like John and Lynda Oldham from the UK who always remember us, and on more than one occasion have brought huge suitcases filled with clothes and toys for the kids.

Thank you Baletha Foundation for your generous donation - without which we could not survive.

Build It in Pongola donated a wonderful jungle gym to the creche in KwaDla-Kuse.

For the third year running we were able to give each child a personalised Christmas present.

Thanks to the Oldhams' cash donation we were able to buy each child a toy.

St.Michael's donated clothes, toothpaste, soap and facecloths.

Thanks to Christiane Firnges from Switzerland who sent out toothbrushes.

Junk Shop in Pongola donated sweets.

Our journey with members of St. Michael's was a sticky baptism in the Nkuzane River.

We were happy to be stuck in the mud, enjoying the result of the recent rains.

The delay didn't dilute the children's excitement and soon they all had sticky fingers and happy faces.

The day was also about receiving!!

We look forward to a wonderful 2017

and thank each and everyone for their kindness.
