Cattle were kicking up dust on their way to drink at the Mkuze River.

It has been reduced to a mere trickle and there is barely a sign of moisture in the barren overgrazed veld on the other side.

A cold snap has hit us, and there is the promise of rain.

So, when we arrived with jerseys, blankets, food and stationery it was perfect timing!

Mary Hardy, a parishioner at St. Michael's Anglican Church in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban, once again

proved her prowess at the machine and she and her sewing group made 65 colourful, warm as toast,

track tops! Thank you so much for the time and dedication!

A wonderful collection of beautifully hand knitted jerseys, from near and as far away as the UK, were donated. A few had the cutest finger puppets tucked into the pockets. So special. Some toddlers are going to be the bees' knees this winter! One or two jerseys from last winter's drive are still in good use. Thanks to all the ladies who have spent hours knitting away.

This term's delivery included stationery from TREE. Nomfundo Vilane and Anne Buthelezi have been committed to their 2 year diploma with Adeline Learning Solutions. Thanks to Margot Graham and the Graham Caritas Trust for sponsoring their education. Tracey Tomlinson helped me to gather up learning aids from TREE. Thanks Tracey!

Sovane and Maphambeni have been pro-active and now receive a government grant per child. We continue to supply food as these grants are not easy to process and do not come through promptly each term. Any excess food is given to KwaDla-Kuse.

The kitchen at KwaDla-Kuse has change the lives of the Gogo's (grannies) who prepare the children's lunch. Thanks so much to

Pam Schubach and Tracey Tomlinson for making this happen.
