· My classroom will be a unique blend of individuals and I will endeavour to always treat each student with recognition and appreciation of their special qualities.
· I hope to create a vibrant, stimulating school environment which is reflective of the students themselves – a place which encourages their learning and development as a whole person.
· Classroom programmes will be balanced and interesting, incorporating all elements of the curriculum to which I teach. The basis for planning will stem from student needs, interests and individual backgrounds.
· Each student learns differently, therefore a variety of teaching methods, styles and resources will be used to accommodate this. Forms of assessment and evaluation will also reflect this concept, gauged upon individual’s abilities to effectively measure their real learning.
· The local community and learning environment are part of everyday life for students. I will make use of these valuable resources to enhance classroom programmes and promote community awareness.
· Classroom management will be ‘firm, fair and friendly’ where the students will know exactly what is expected of them and know their routines and behavioural expectations.
· With the rich experience the students bring to my classroom, I will encourage them to take responsibility for their own learning to develop the personal qualities they require for their future in education.
· Teaching is a profession. I will involve myself in the corporate life of the school and co-operate, share and support the work of other teachers. I will continue my professional development through courses and conferences which meet the needs I have identified for myself as a learner.
· Teaching is a dynamic process through which I will learn with my students. My philosophy of teaching is a process that will also continually evolve with me.
