Achievements:
· Developed, communicated and implemented a strategic education programme across SPCA regions which is fully aligned with all components of the NZ Curriculum
· Wrote, piloted, taught and evaluated a 10 week humane education programme in three schools, targeting students with needs to develop empathy
· Duffy Books in Homes school role model
· Written and implemented effective systems, programmes and processes to recruit, orientate, train and support large volunteer team (250+)
· Developed and implemented an integrated community engagement programme which includes schools, alternate education units, children's hospitals and community services
Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate and utilise in-depth experience in planning and leading education initiatives, including effective teaching and learning
· Work collaboratively with the Education Manager and Chief Scientific Officer to support a high performing strategy team
· Strengthen and grow networks with organisations who can assist with the ongoing development of relevant and engaging education resources and learning experiences
· Maintain a broad view of what is happening in education and in community programmes locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
· Build critical linkage across SPCA regions and across the education sectors
· Effectively lead, recruit, mentor and support all community engagement staff and volunteer team members
· Carry out research to determine best practice for humane education initiatives, volunteer programmes and animal assisted therapy
