Associate Principal: Learning and Teaching

· Organizer for Passion Day, Student Involved Conferences and Leadership trip for students to Gallipoli, Turkey
Responsibilities:
· Deputise for Principal as 2i/c - Second in Charge
· Develop and train staff in assessment administration, data entry and analysis at school wide level [MUSAC Edge]
· Provide analysis, progress and solution development in relation to school targets
· Coordinate the update/review of the Teaching and Learning Handbook, the Performance Management Portfolios, and New Staff Induction
· Oversee and provide guidance to teachers in the learning areas
· Effectively monitor the performance of all staff through the execution of the Performance Management and Appraisal systems [including Appraisal Connector]
· Support high quality professional learning to assist teachers in developing fully effective teaching practices
· Be visible in classrooms and available as a support for all staff
· Communicate regularly with staff; observe, model and utilize staff expertise to ensure curriculum implementation is current, relevant, effective, and reflects striving for excellence
· Monitor professional learning and teacher inquiry in action
· Establish and maintain good communication processes with staff, and between staff and members of the senior management team
· Liaise with other curriculum Passion Pod Leaders regarding the integration of planning, resources and our inquiry learning model
· Communicate information effectively and regularly with Passion Pods and whanau groups
· Learning leader for specific Writers Workshop sessions as a model for PRT cohort
