Some further adjustments were made to the ride route before after doing it last month as a permanent.
Minor detour passed the "World's Tallest Tree", and inclusion of the picturesque Morwell River Road up to the Grand Ridge Road. The later needs a bit of a tweak to get the overall distance correct, but adds another great road to the route.
Removed the Great Southern Rail Trail, the road crossing were getting a bit tedious and instead took Amey's Track out of Foster back to the ridge and through Mirboo to Mirboo North. The extra climbing is off set by the improvemt to the views of the Prom and Tarwin Valley.
Plenty of food options were available at Mirboo North, but the visit to the Grand Ridge Brewery will have to wait a bit longer.
Re joined the Grand Ridge Road heading west, before taking the Mirboo Yarragon Road for the last leg. More climbs and views. This definitely meets the criteria for this ride; scenic, challenging hills, low traffic, unsealed. What could be better?
Will update the maps shortly.
