Event DetailsThis event is the first of the Mixed Terrain Series and an ideal warm up for the later events, Grand Ridge Road Randonnée, and Jam for Jamieson 300/400.
This one is a fairly social ride through the Bunyip State Park. Close to Melbourne and accessible via the Pakenham train line its mainly on quiet unsealed roads, with plenty of great scenery and and plenty of rolling hills. What more could you ask for?
The total distance is a 100 km, just over 1000m of climbing, and about 50% gravel. The gravel sections are usually well maintained, and there is no single track. If you feel comfortable with your ability to ride off-road, this event is doable on a road bike. You might get the odd pinch flat, but if you can fit 25 mm wide tyres there is no need to take the MTB.
This is generally a social and relaxed affair with a wide mix of riders, many of whom are trying Mixed Terrain events for the first time.
And don't forget to join us for a drink in the pub after the ride.
