I am Hung-Gay Fung, Dr. Y.S. Tsiang Professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the president of Midwest Chinese American Science and Technology Association (美中西區華人學術聯誼會). Let me welcome you to participate and share the 34 years of history with the scientific meetings and social gatherings held on September 16, 2017.
This year we host a conference on the concept of innovation and technology center. Our venue will be held at the in the rapidly developing innovation hub known as the Cortex Innovation District in St. Louis, where Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) expanded the St. Louis location there several years ago and develop St. Louis as a national leader for entrepreneurs and startups. Our conference also offers an opportunity to visit the TechShop, which is a community-based workshop and prototyping studio on a mission to democratize access to the tools of innovation. Packed with cutting-edge tools, equipment, and computers loaded with design software featuring the Autodesk Design Suite, the TechShop offers the space to make, and the support and camaraderie of a community of makers.
