2011 MCASTA Annual Symposium -- Submission

Registration on line: Registration.(registration is free. Lunch will be provided to all participants)

Researchers are encouraged to submit an abstract of their studies to one of tracks listed below by August 15, 2011. The abstract should be 500 words or less and should be submitted directly to the track chair of a proper track.  All submissions are subject to peer review and acceptance notice will be communicated to researchers by August 25, 2011.   (Volunteers needed)

 Tracks and track chairs

• • • Life Science/Medical/Pharmaceutical: Dr. Kam Fok (fok.kam@gmail.com)  

    • Research, studies, and cases in all fields of Life Science, Medical, and Pharmaceutical are welcome. 

    • Engineering: Dr. Jung-Tsung Shen (jushen@wustl.edu)

    • Researchers from all fields of engineering are encouraged to submit their studies and cases.  

    • Computer/Information Technology: Dr. Vincent Yu (yuwen@mst.edu)

      • Studies and cases all fields of computer/information technology are welcome.  Special emphasis will be given to studies and cases in applying information technologies to support sustainable business and economy.

    • Emerging New Scholars (NEW!!): MCASTA Planning Committee (mcasta.stl@gmail.com)

      • The Emerging New Scholars track is a great opportunity for graduate students to present their research and receive feedback from field experts.

      • Advisors are encouraged to nominate their students to present their research.

    • Social Science and Literature: MCASTA Planning Committee (mcasta.stl@gmail.com) 

      • Researchers from all fields of Social Science and Literature are encouraged to submit their studies for presentation.

    • Facing Challenges as American Born Chinese (NEW!!): Connie Liou (liou.connie@gmail.com)

      • Parent Panel: Lisa Liao (lisaliou@hotmail.com)

    • A panel of successful college and high school students will share their experience with, offer valuable suggestions to, and exchange discussions with students and their parents on challenges they faced at school or in their social life as the 2nd generation of Chinese American. 

      • Parents are welcome to nominate their children to serve as panelists. 

      • Students of all ages and parents are encouraged to join the panel discussions.  

    • Management & Business: Dr. Hung Gay Fung (FungH@msx.umsl.edu)

      • Presentations in all fields of business (e.g., Management, Accounting, Finance, marketing) are welcome.  Special emphasis will be given to studies, practices, and cases in sustainable business, international business, and smart investment during financial crisis.  

    • Entrepreneurship/Small-Midsize Enterprise (NEW!!): Ms. Wen Hsia (wen.hsia@yahoo.com) 

    • Studies, personal experiences, practical tips, cases in starting a sustainable business with focus on small to mid-size enterprise are welcome. Nominations of established business owners to be presenters are also encouraged.
