Message from the President ...

Midwest Chinese American Science and Technology Association (美中西區華人學術聯誼會) welcomes you to share our 33 years of history with the scientific meetings and social gatherings.

This year we host a conference on the impact of “Big Data” on science, social science and humanity. The progress of the Big Data field has grown rapidly and has impacted many areas. This year, Dr. Phillip  S. Yu, University of Illinois at Chicago, a prominent scholar in the field, will be our keynote speaker on the topic.  In supporting the theme of our conference, Dr. Chi-Ren Shyu, University of Missouri-Columbia, will also organize a session on the big data.

In addition, we have also other interesting tracks in our conference. Drs. Kuei-Hsiang Hsueh and Huei-Wern Shen,  both faculty at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, organize two separate sessions on Aging. Ms. Cheng Yu from Express Script and Dr. Hung-Gay Fung from University of

Missouri-St. Louis will co-chair a financial planning session. Dr. Hueh Shieh will organize a session on Arts and Humanity with local experts on the topic.

We also have a luncheon speech by a presentative from Express Script, featuring career advice for people who are in the job market.

The one-day conference will be held on September 10, 2016 at the JC Penny building, University of Missouri-St. Louis.
