Prof. Chung-Yuan Mou received his B.S. degree from National Taiwan University and earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry (with Ron Lovett) from Washington University in St. Louis (1975). After postdoctoral researches, he joined National Taiwan University (1978), where he is professor of department of chemistry since 1982. At present, he is University Chair professor at NTU. He has received many awards, including National Chair Professor (2000-2003), Chemistry Medal, Chinese Chemical Society, Taipei (2002), Cozzarelli Prize of the National Academy of Science of USA (2007), TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences) chemistry award (2013). In the period 2012-2014, he served as Deputy Minister of the National Science Council of Taiwan. His research interest includes biomedical application of mesoporous silica nanoparticles, supercooled water, heterogeneous catalysis, and biomineralization.
