The Boston Globe's Kevin Paul DuPont once wrote, "never have I seen a man mimic a human airplane propeller - until I saw Chris Simo."
Simo holds the record for saves in a game (73), saves in a season (1,373) and life time save totals in the VMA. The total got so high, the league stop recording stats. If you wanted to beat a club boasting Simo in net, you better get 50 to 60 shots. Cause its gonna take that many to have any chance at slipping a few by him. When the legendary Matt Dunn left the Zingers in 2011, it was Simo who was called into duty for 2011-12. The Zingers would win the division at (11-7-0) with their new netminder. A year later, the Zingers would have the Whalers on the ropes in the Semi-Finals behind Simo. But as fate would have it, he would leave the game in the late 2nd off an ankle sprain in a 0-0 tie. The Zingers would unfortunately fall without Simo. He would then be the Wings gate keeper the following year, and it is where his legend truly grew, as Commissioner Hurrell had to burn the record books because the save totals were so insane. Some say he suffered shell shock that year he saw so much rubber. And in 2014-15, Simo was the backstop for the new expansion Bulldogs - again on the wrong side of victory in a 2OT classic playoff exit.
With four straight season of endless shots, Simo took off the 2015-16 season to write poetry and study astrology - basically trying to become one with the universe.
