Seven (7) straight trips to the VMA Cup Finals as the goaltender of Helltown. Three (3) Cups. All with one club. That type of mastery doesn't happen overnight. From 2007-2011, Nogast was a snipers worst nightmare. And with a cage that big, how could he not be, for they say Nogast can see everything from the goal tending crease to the tip of the Himalayas. As opposing offenses swarmed down on his net, Johnny No would swell larger than a peacock spreading his feathers. His most impressive year was 2008-09 going (23-1-0) combined (11-1-0 & 12-0-0) with a 3.75GAA.
With aches and pains - and an addiction to scratch tickets that cost him his fortune - Nogast vanished in a flash at the end of 2011 when Helltown decided to fold the club after a devastating Cup loss. The old timers say you can still find him kicking around the summer leagues or as a paid-for-hire pond hockey tournament tender when he needs a few bucks. Others claim he wonders the streets of the Merrimack Valley in the daylight. Regardless, while he may be gone from the VMA, he will live forever in our history books as the great Johnny No.
