Chapter 2 - Early For Supper

Returning from a visit with his daughter, Matlock was informed by Ralph that "something is going down", and to get Agiope and go to San Antonio to help the rest of the group. Fifteen minutes north of town, Agiope spotted a truck "filled with 10,000 ghosts", and forced Matlock to return to Bristol. Confronting the owner of the truck, Agiope was knocked unconscious, at which point Matlock resumed travel to San Antonio. Avoiding roaming bands of cannibals and the police, the rest of the group finally found Gavin in a squalid meth house. Mistaken for zombies, the group was fired upon by two drug users, who were subsequently killed. A third user, to strung out to resist, was left unharmed. As more cannibals approached the house, Diesel finally remembered that he had family in San Antonio, and that he should contact them. Upon being informed that his little brother, AJ, had become a cannibal, Diesel insisted that the group go help his family. After much debate over who exactly was or was not a cannibal, the group then debated over what to do next. In the middle of the desert, Matlock and Agiope were forced off the road and assaulted by a High School football team. Matlock magically shot each one in the knee, and then commanded them to flee. Agiope was obliged to bring a "Good Death" to two stragglers. Flagging down a truck, they were given a ride to San Antonio at the cost of one pig and $100. Matlock and Agiope arrived at Diesel's family's house in time to see QB shoot at an armed trio advancing on the house. Alerted by the shots, the rest of the group came out on to the lawn, and debated what to do with the injured man. Jughead, through Spirit, and Agiope, through Twilight, perceived a large, Meso-American pyramid looming over the Astral Space of San Antonio, further fueling debate. Eventually it was decided to allow QB and Agiope to take care of the wounded man, while Iceman provided a Spirit Ward for the house. Returning inside, Jughead placed smaller Wards in Tupperware (TM) containers prepared by Phreak. Informed of a location of the Seers of the Throne by Ralph, the group staged a covert raid, but met no resistance, either Mortal or Magical. Agiope Opened the Way, and magically led them to an obsidian blade, emptied of it's magic.
