This game is an adventure quest style game that will combine Native American lore with fantasy. The goal is to make a game that mimic the open-endedness of an Elder Scrolls game with the location-based technology of ARIS. The story will place the player as a young Native American boy who must learn about his ancestor's history in order to defeat the evil that has reemerged. While the main storyline will be the main motivation for the player to complete, there will hopefully be extra side quests to discover. These side adventures will allow the player to learn more about the lore while also allowing the player to explore the real environment of Albuquerque.
I hope to incorporate areas like the Rio Grande River, the Petroglyphs, and the Sandias. The biggest challenge facing this project is the complexity of the options and the combat. I have already started to make the combat mechanics functional, so the ball is already rolling. I hope to incorporate the upcoming map overlay feature of ARIS to really give the Map area a large and open feeling. Puzzles, monster battles, and player interaction are the main focuses of this game. Fast Travelling to far off locations might also be incorporated.
