Conquering Albuquerque for Dummies

Our First Update~

Our game is set from the perspective of an evil scientist (who is not dumb, per say, but perhaps a little bonkers) who wants to take over Albuquerque. The game will feature several quests which can be done independently from each other, in any order. We don't want the quests to be single step accomplishments, or completed too quickly. Each quest will have a goal which requires items to be completed. There may be more than one item that will complete a quest, but the different items may change the outcome of the game. Items will be purchased with the coins which spawn around the player as he/she walks. There is still some discussion about whether the game will be quick travel or utilize map overlay (something we would be interested in given that it's mechanics would behave nicely for us). The original thought was to have the game played naturally with the player walking to the featured locations along Central, but we may be moving away from that form.

Currently, we have some (a little!) Aris programming going on. We have at least a rough draft of about six quests, which we may or may not add to later. So right now we're probably going to focus on getting our hands dirty and putting more into Aris, so that we can iron out the wrinkles, find out where the holes are. The challenges for may include map overlay if we go ahead and use that, and then making sure that the multiple endings all work according to their requirements. I.E. making sure the right endings show up for the right items used.
