“ABQ Get Fit” is a five-day fitness and nutrition guide aiming to get out-of-shape individuals back in shape and back on their way to a happy, healthy, and successful lifestyle.  Anyone from the most beginner level of fitness, to the more advanced levels can participate.  This game is based in ABQ, the city’s picturesque landscape playing a key role in the experiences of the game.  During the five-day period, different exercises are performed in various locations throughout Albuquerque.  This allows the game participants to not only get in a good workout, but also to get out of their comfort zone and discover new, beautiful places to exercise.  

On a daily basis many individuals struggle with weight gain and trying to fit in the proper daily nutrition and workouts necessary in maintaining a healthy body weight.  Unlike many nutrition and fitness guides that provide an overwhelming, unmanageable, and confusing variation of workouts and nutritional information, this guide does not allow much leeway or variability in what the participant may eat and the exercises they perform.  Rather, it is a very structured five day plan, beginning on Monday and finishing on Friday, that contains a daily meal plan including, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack, along with a daily sixty minute cardio workout and thirty minute core workout.  For each meal eaten and each exercise performed successfully, as a bonus, the participant receives additional nutrition tips and motivational quotes. 

This game is by no means a “quick fix” to managing one’s body weight, but rather, a motivation booster to get back on track to obtaining one’s long term health and fitness goals.
