This skill category reflects the amount of training you have given to your character's body to enable you to resist physical damage. The higher your level of proficiency, the more Total Body and Location Points you have. If you do not spend any skill points on this Skill Category, your character will have Body 0. The table below shows the number of Total Body and Location Points that your character has at each level of proficiency in this skill category. It also lists the amount of negative Total Body Points your character can sustain before dying, your characters body points of no return.
Normally, a blow of 10 points or more that takes a location negative will cause the bones in the location to be broken. Characters with Physical Enhancement of VII or greater are so resilient to physical damage that it takes a 15 point blow or greater blow to break bones. Each rank in this skill also allows a character to survive slightly longer when dying.
A character’s body points represent a number of points of damage they may receive. These points may be reduced or increased by combat damage, spells, potions or other means. If a characters total body points are reduced to zero for any reason, that character will fall unconscious until their body points are raised to a positive number. If a characters locational points are reduced to zero, that location is rendered useless until healed. If the location is the torso or head, this will also cause unconsciousness. If a characters location points fall into negative numbers, then the character will bleed and continue to lose total body points from bleeding until the character’s total body reaches the stated point of no return, at which point the character is dead.
