What a surprise! The first time I try to figure out how to type Vietnamese on Mac computer, I realize it fully supports

Vietnamese in the latest operating system Mac OS X Leopard. It is a piece of cake to type Vietnamese in Mac OS environment. As described, no external keyboard driver, no 3rd party software, no need to configure. Everything is ready.

You just have to turn it on and type.

Follow the steps below to turn Vietnamese mode on, then there you go.

    1. Go to System Preferences and open International.

  1. Go to the tab Input Menu, select Vietnamese Unikey.

  2. You may also want to check on Show input menu in menu bar for your ease.

  3. Simply Telex is selected by default. Most of people prefer VNI, then select VNI.

  4. The example below uses Telex typing standard.

  1. You can notice the little flag on the top right corner. Click on it and choose Simple Telex or VNI.

  1. Now you can type Vietnamese. Open TextEdit or Word and try it.
