Created in 1973 by Executive Reorganization Order no. 1. Abolished in 2012 by Executive Reorganization no. 41 with most duties divided between the KANSAS. DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES (KSDOCS Class "CF") and the KANSAS. DEPARTMENT FOR AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES (KSDOCS Class "AGI").
[KSA 75-5301]. Included in this class as well as other classes beginning with SR: KANSAS. STATE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE. Created in 1939 and abolished in 1973. Its duties were assumed by the above Department. Also included in this class: KANSAS. STATE BOARD OF SOCIAL WELFARE. Created in 1937 and abolished in 1939. In 1973 the State Department of Social Welfare was abolished and its duties assumed by the DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND REHABILITATION SERVICES. Also included in this class: KANSAS CONFERENCE OF CHARITIES AND CORRECTION. These conferences were held from 1900-1914. Created in 2000. Succeeded: KANSAS. CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES which was created in 1995. Former name: KANSAS. YOUTH AND ADULT SERVICES. This division in existence 1990-1995. Before 1990 two divisions existed. One was classed here: KANSAS. YOUTH SERVICES. The other division, KANSAS. DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND REHABILITATION SERVICES.
