Okay, I'm wrapping up final edits for The Reason She Left, which has been yet another labor of love. It's the sequel to Perfectly Revolting, my memoir about cartooning, as it's a compilation of my page-length comics, or as they call them these days, sequential art.
Ready for a sneak peek?
I asked my FaceBook Fans to pick a number between one and sixty... and here are the random pages they picked!
Click on the picture to see it full-sized...
Page 3 is for GINA.... good call! (See all three pages in color on Rudolf's Diner... there is a fourth in the book.)
Page 12 is for Denison... this is a sample of the essay pages between the comics. This one precedes a one-pager... hmmm. Does it seem a little boring out of context?
Page 27 is for Stephanie... I bet this looks familiar!
Page 57 is for Gomer... and I feel a little weird posting it since it's the LAST page of the longest story and, well, I hope it doesn't give too much away...
And BETH, well, I don't know what to say... you picked page 7, which HAPPENS to be the only page with NOTHING on it! (I stuck it in to get the page flow right; it's one of, actually two out of the three fixes I have left to do.) Except, of course, the very faint background... (if there's a picture in it that interests you, let me know and I'll put up the page it's on...)
And here's what's weirder... Page vii is also blank! Does this coincidence mean something to you, a gal who LOVES a blank page? :)
Speaking of which... I need to find someone to write a foreword! Hopefully a well-known, semi-academic comix artist who likes the linguistics of feminism and is not loathe to support an indie artist... Any ideas?
