Flexifoil Bullet 5.5
I have always rather liked the Bullet range even though they are seen as an entry level kite (they are certainly cheaper than the popular Blade series). The Blades (and especially the larger ones) have always worried me slightly with the high lift and power, so the fact that the Bullets have much less lift suits me better.
I was looking around for a kite around this size for some time whilst saving up - however when I got the offer of the Ozone Razor 3.5 I couldn't resist - which of course wiped out my savings. In the meantime I had started work on the NasaWing9b 5.4 but I suddenly got a special offer from FiveForty Kite Sports here in Sheffield on the old pre-2005 Bullets (Flexifoil has tweaked the design and colours for 2005 range) which meant I could, at a stretch afford one. I debated about the size - 5.5 or 7.0 and in the end I felt that 5.5 would be a best choice just so I didn't end up with a huge gap between the Razor 3.5 and the Bullet 5.5.
The Bullet package comprises of kite, 25m lines, handles, kite keepers, rucksack and lots of instructions - the only thing to add is a ground stake, some open space and wind and you are in business!

Good Things
- Very stable design - no bow ties with this one!
- Excellent construction with sleeved & stitched bridles.
- Quick turning whilst flying.
- Low lift.
- Well behaved.
Bad Things
- Not my favourite colour scheme - grey's aren't my thing.
- Can't think of anything else at the moment! Will have to use this in the buggy to find out more.
Final Thoughts
I like the Bullet range - well built, good package, good price (especially now) and will do what I want. However I need to use the Bullet 5.5 in a wider range of winds, especially in the buggy to really get the feel of the kite.
It's not a race kite - much lower aspect ratio (i.e. short and fat) so I guess it won't move so fast but will provide a nice buggy experience.
