The Incredible Journey- Fourth grade

The Incredible Journey is a science lesson that I implemented to the entire fourth grade during my student teaching placement. I took this lesson from Project WET and adapted it to fit with each class of fourth grade students. Student teaching with the science teacher gave me access to teaching this lesson to 3 out of the 4 fourth grade classes. After I taught this lesson to these classes, the last fourth grade teacher asked me to come in to teach the lesson to her Odyssey classroom. Odyssey is a "school within a school" program that has strict entrance requirements and teaches the students in a non-traditional style. These students are taught reading and social studies at the grade level, and are taught math and science at the next grade level up. This was an Incredible Journey (pun intended) for me as a future educator to be able to work with these students and adapt my lesson to fit the needs of this particular group of students.
