I completed my Coaching Minor practicum at River Falls High School as a co-coach to the JV/JV2 softball team. It was an incredible experience to learn about all of the "behind the scenes" work that goes in to starting and running a successful high school program, coordinating try-outs, dividing up players on teams, running successful practices and games, and working with athletes through personal and athletic challenges.
In the spring of 2016, I coached at Centennial High School as the 9th grade head softball coach. It was a great experience putting everything I learned at my practicum experience to good use with my new team of athletes!
Below you will find practice plans that I have used with my past and current softball teams.
I have also included a Season and Practice Plan PowerPoint group presentation that I was a part of in a college class. It includes goals and objectives for the season, what skills we are looking to improve in our athletes, and example practice plans written by each group member. By creating this presentation, we were able to collaborate together on what important goals and objectives we would want to meet with our athletes and how we would set up our season practice plan. Collaboration is one of the best things I have learned how to offer and accept throughout my college education and it has proven to be the best asset to my teaching and coaching career.
